MI Sheet Music

Jan 21, 2008 three pm

Does anyone know where I can find simplified Monkey Island sheet music suitable for teaching someone how to play the piano?  Mrs. Crasberry, my old piano teacher was asking.

Tis great stuff and everything, but it's a shame a whole bunch of critical and obvious chords and notes are wrong in this guy's transcriptions. I can't help but think "ack, this should be this, that should be that" while listening.

i think he's more a piano player than a composer. I think he's more improvising than playing it from the notes.

Hey Ron. I'm pretty sure you can find it here:

Or maybe those are treasure maps. One could never tell.

Hey, this gamemusicthemes.com page is really great!
Thanks for sharing!

I'm convinced that Jojo's theme really can bend the very fabric of time.
The metronome slows down!
It's true! it slows down!

Cesar, the Argentine.

Aren't all old piano teachers called Mrs Badcrumble?

That made me laugh because it's so true.

Jojo the Monkey is one of the first songs I learned on the piano, lovely tune! I've put it here.

download a midi file of the theme. convert the midi to sheet using software available at http://www.notation.com/ (shareware). simplify the sheets with this program.
have fun

I agree with Cesar. Ingame the Jojo theme used to ALWAYS slow down, but the midi's and the sheets don't show this!

On that video he plays it like jojo does. It's hypnotic!

World of MI, duh.

You know what you should do? An Monkey Island Concert (MIC) or perhaps a Monkey Island Band, like Boyzone or Backstreet boys (or however is popular these days), perhaps Regge style. Maybe even classic, or rock, but no pop ok? Anyway, all the band members are former Monkey Island developers.
You would be noticed in the US, big in Europe and absolutely astronomical in proportions in Japan. With all this money, you would, of course, track down Lucas, get the rights cheep (he doesn't recognise the genius of MI) and then produce MI 3/5!

Yes.
Anyhow. You had some great co-workers when you made MI, the music is brilliant!

Posted by AndyBundy on Jan 23, 2008 quarter past nine am

lol you think, LucasArts would ever give those rights away to someone who pays millions for those? No, they wouldn't, they want to hold those rights, so nobody can make new titles until they let someone else develop it. But since Jim Ward is so "nice" to let us wait I really hope his team or whoever creates a new title puts the best and also original ideas into a MI game.

I don't want a "new" Monkey Island. I want the REAL Monkey Island.

Posted by AndyBundy on Jan 24, 2008 ten to ten am

well I meant a new title for monkey island, not a new monkey island itself. Just continuing the original story would be good.

Not Monkey Island, but looks like a nice Pirate-Adventure already:

Posted by Killuah on Jan 23, 2008 quarter to two pm

I don't get it. Why don't you just phone your old crew?
