A Trade-off Worth Making...

Oct 19, 2007 five past nine am

The Grumpy Gamer family of websites is going to be down on Saturday for a much needed server and FreeBSD upgrade, so please plan your weekend accordingly.

And on a little side note, I'd be willing to give up the last 10 years of advancement in high-end computer graphics if it meant there would not be an Alvin and the Chipmunks movie.  Please tell me who I need to go back in time and kill.

Update:  The server is back up and sporting a gleaming new version of FreeBSD 6.2 all gleaming with gleamingness.  Please don't touching the gleaming.

Ron, killing is very bad, and wrong, don’t do this.

Hey Ron, what do you think of Tim's new game, Bru(umlaut!)tal Legend?

...There was this scene in Pink Flamingos where this girl chewed on dog crap that made that film infamous for being disgusting. So a little chipmunk eating his own crap is funny?

It was a guy... not a girl.

It's been a while, and frankly it was one of the things I really wanted to forget.

Here is the Chipmunks Adventure (1987)
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e3WW-9K6jQo

There was more art in the 1987 hand drawn animation than the quest for realism of the latest offering..

Similarly, there is more art in the 'Baloon Race' than many ultra serious games of now.  I want a balloon race where I can take the shortcut across Fiji dammit! And avoid alligators, waterfalls, and spear attacks by natives!

What's sad is that he would have made a perfect Fletch... Now he's famous for Earl and all he's got is this crappy movie.

Man! :(

Hey Ron, remember your last comic? the one with the kid asking Santa for some crazy stuff?
Turns out that almost 2 years passed and all that actually came true (xbox360, halo3, non-DRM songs on ipods, you peeing on people) so how about a new comic?
I'd pay you... in printed doubloons...

That is where it all began...

And you probably never heard the italian dub of the cartoon...It could really make a hell of a childhood...

Apart from this, Italian dubs are generally good...even for a foreign film snob like you;)

I was wondering what you were complaining about until I saw that it's live, not animated. And with what appears to be a very dumb script.

shudder

Save me.

Two notes:
1) The chipmunks do not resemble the ones in the cartoon
2)Anyway, I'm not terribly sure that I won't see the movie...Jason Lee is too a great actor to miss it (I can't avoid laughing and feeling a general sens of happiness when watching My name is Earl)!!!
