Got Scurvy?

Jun 4, 2013 ten to eight am

I know what you're thinking. Finally! Making games can't be that hard and take that long, and you'd be right, I just spend too much time screwing around and surfing the web.

Scurvy Scallywags in The Voyage to Discover the Ultimate Sea Shanty: A Musical Match-3 Pirate RPG will be out for iOS on June 6th!

Mark your calendars and stock up on lemons and oranges!

When you say "long", how long? And how many of you? And with just the Apple iOS dev kit?

We started working on an early prototype of the game in September, but it wasn't until February that I was working on it full time. Up until that point it was just weekends.

There were 3 part-time artists (including Clayton). A musician by the name of Steve Kirk and me doing the programming, plus two dedicated testers and a hand-full of beta testers towards the end.

I have so many questions I'd like to ask now, but I feel this is not the place.

So I'll get the game and play it instead.

think about all the Androids out there! We want to give you moneys too! (and also enslave all humanity as a long term plan).

How clever, a nautical themed game about invading land, released on the anniversary of D-Day.  You're quite the marketer, Ron!

The minute this is available on Android, I will buy it :)

I've only played it for an hour or so this morning, but I'm really enjoying it.  Match3's aren't usually my thing, but the combat and RPG element work great - building yourself up for the fight (while keeping a good distance from the bad guys) is great twist.

The stage theme is perfect too - the crowd booing and hissing is a nice touch.

Best of luck with sales!

If I had a lemon for every time someone asked me if I had scurvy, I wouldn't have scurvy.

Been playing it today as part of dissertation writing procrastination: Ron, this is great- love the game but what really finishes it is the music (by Steve Kirk I take from the comment above?) any plans to release that music separately (or maybe as an in-game purchase?) HARRRR
