It reminds me of some of the stuff by Terry Taylor for the Neverhood game... which (in my opinion) is a very, very good thing!

I believe it's Jeff Tymoschuk, the same guy who is doing the the (great) music for Hothead's Penny Arcade games.

Alright, no gameplay, but I'm cool with that. These are probably some of the best game teasers I've ever seen ... seriously. I mean, those were just awesome. And friggin' hilarious too. And that music was great, like everyone else, I really want to know who composed it. I really feel like I've got a much better grasp of what this game will be like now, despite how minimal those teasers are. Ron Gilbert, I am really looking forward to this game. I'm so glad you had the opportunity to make this. From what I can tell, it looks great.

NOW I shall ramble:

I also ask that this game's controls not be BASTARDIZED for a gamepad.  That would plain suck. :[  I still can not finish Grim Fandango, because the controls are so horrible.  When I read that this game is going to be a Diablo + Graphic Adventure, then I assumed that only a real pointer would be good enough for it.

And - - I have more - -  I've tried the new 3D graphic adventures like Sam & Max and I enjoy their humor, but they're too streamlined.  It's just point and get a response. There are no options.  This may be fine for the younger MEEE generation, but it lowers the sophistication of the game to a point that I'm not enjoying them as much as the older games. I like options! I want to be the one that explores an item to see if it's a look, taste, etc... It REMOVES the humor, which you guys used to convey so sarcastically, when I the user would do something dumb.

I LOVE the 2D art BTW from these teasers, I hope it's an intricate part of the game.

Anyways,  I WILL BUY YOUR GAME, "if" it's an option for the following platforms; "Wii," Mac, and PC.  I don't do the XBLA thing and since Brutal Legend is in Limbo, I'm no longer even considering a PS3 -- I put all that money plus more into my PC.

I see now at least one reason why you went for the Diablo vibe. Looking at the first Battle teaser, the Diablo mechanics allow you to effectively have battles like that.
I'm curious about gameplay details. (I know you can make jokes and write.) Will it be something where you can do a random dungeon for loot, or will it have a tight, unbreaking narrative. Or both? Multiplayer? (I doubt it.) Anyway, curious for information.

At first I was sorta "meh" on Deathspank....but the more I watch the videos, the more I am strangely compelled to buy it.

There are subconcious images in these trailers that tell you to buy DeathSpank and eat more spaghetti.

Actually, it would be nicer to play a teaser of this Deathspank dude maiming Guybrush and all the other MI characters from Curse and Escape... on Curse, that juvinile and stoopid cartoon look they gave to Threepwood... and on Escape, that horrible 3D look over the already inapropriate cartoon look from Curse. Sorry for my attitude, but the name of your blog is grumpy isn't it?

Get ready for a non-fighting, non-specialitemy, non-armorladden contra-hack&slash. Ron is clearly going to do the dirty.

That "Don't choose the wrong flavor" thing reminds me of Humongous games such as Spy Fox and Pajama Sam: these had lots of such puzzles (for example, that sauce tree in Pajama Sam 3).

Seems like the rage is casual games with just enough extras to keep the hardcore gamer playing it after he's beaten the main game in less then 12 parsecs...this seems like a game that could fit that mold would like to see it on an xbl or wiiware line up, pc gaming is pretty much dead...unless it involves an MMO gimmick of some sort...best of luck finding someone to throw money behind it :)
