Pirates! Close-up!
Apr 6, 2008 five past five pm
While rummaging around some dusty old game store the other weekend I came across a "Pirate Toob" for $8.99 that was filled with small plastic pirates recommended for ages 3 and up.
Why did God make pirates so much fun?

Farewell and adieu to you, ladies of Spain,
For we've received orders for to sail for ole England,
But we hope in a short time to see you again.
We will rant and we'll roar like true British sailors,
We'll rant and we'll roar all on the salt sea.
Until we strike soundings in the channel of old England;
From Ushant to Scilly is thirty five leagues...

Well in terms of comedy and general pirate patriotism it was a great movie.
But Pirates of the Caribbean be a really great film too, one o' the best pirate movies I've ever seen.
But pure comedy and adventure/fantasy cannot be compared.
'Sides which, I remember a certain computer game back in the day which was really something special...

Lucasarts has a new president!
http://www.lucasarts.com/company/release/news20080402.html
Reckon this will affect the possibilities of Lucasarts ever going back to at least semi-adventure games being produced?
I'm still hopefully living for the day when i can hear the words "Adventure Game" and "Lucasarts" being mentioned in the same sentence without the word "not" or "never" or "in the past" being thrown in somewhere...
But even if not...new president= new possibilities...
(Hey, I choose to hope.)
