On a different note, I've never seen The Simpsons  (except a snippet here and there) and I got the Season One DVD from a friend. I just finished watching my tenth episode.

Loving it, although South Park is better (so far). I hear the first couple of seasons are that good anyway.

I've seen a couple of Futurama episodes ("Robot hell" was repeated a lot to a robot - I think he was Bender).

The Simpsons was of it's time. Don't expect cutting edge comedy... It's brilliant, but it's different than South Park. Plus it gets pretty goddamn awful after season 8.

Well I've only seen short episodes of Simpsons. I played and finished an arcade one when I was a young, that was fun. My kid enjoys seeing the trailer, but I don't feel like a fan to that character. As the trailer says, they so much dare to be ugly :)

It's like any other comic or tv cartoon, when the new writers don't have creativity, this kind of ideas start to come out...

The simpsons lost their way in recent episodes. They had to dumb it down to appeal to the average (stoopid) american viewer and so much of the humor is childish and interchangeable. Long story short, don't watch fox.

Those who say that never saw the simpsons, you should try it from seasons 2 or 3 to 10, more or less, i think the best episodes are there.
I dont like south park, to be true, but "king of the hill", "south park", "futurama", and many other actual shows owe much to The Simpsons, Monkey island or Ren&Stimpy sense of humor.
So be grateful to homer...:D

Hmmmm...Simpsons stopped being funny about 6 seasons ago. Now if there was a "FutureHammer 40k".. Futurama is (for me at least) Simpsons with all the jokes still in it

I agree with Andy. The Simpsons have started to run out of new ideas since 2000, thats why Matt and the team are quitting after the next season and of course the much hyped movie.  

Speaking of the movie, does anyone here think its just so hyped up that it'll flop like the star wars prequel trilogy? I mean look at many tv to film movies get carried away by the fact that they are a movie instead of telling a story thats true to the spirit and style of the original material.

Some Argentina guys are working since 2005 in "The Amulet of Monkey Island". It seems like they're hitting hard. They are a group of fans just working on a free game because tehy love Monkey Island. The new game is based in MI1 and MI2.
