April Fools' Day #3

Apr 1, 2007 twenty five to nine am

For three years running, Grumpy Gamer has remained (and will continue to remain) 100% April Fool's Day joke free.

Surprisingly, I haven't witnessed any 'jokes' so far, neither on the internet nor in the real world. So either the jokes have become really good so good I don't even realise it's a joke anymore or people have begun to understand that it's only fun if it's a really good one and decided against it.

The whole running "No joke" run has become funny, though. :)

Isn't no joke the greatest joke of all ? Therefore you're not only contradicting yourself but also hypocritical ?

Hi Ron!
For the april fool day, maybe the announce of Monkey Island 2.5: where you says that you are working with your own Software house in cooperation with LucasArts!!!!

3D characters with 2d background (the best for me ;) )

Hi Ron, I'm an italian 29 y.o. m.i. lover... first time writing, so first of all just let me say... THANKS!
then, forgive my off-topic but i noticed that the new sam&max games are not in your "what i'm playing" list... why?

i'd really like to know what you think about those games, they are close to your game philosophy, but in some way i find them to be new and original (nice 3d point and click, interesting "episode philosophy" etc.)

ever tought about working with telltale games to create a new "ron gilbert adventure"?
you know we old fan really look forward to play a new adventure from you!!!  maybe now the world is once again ready! :D

thanks and sorry for bad english
lorenzo

He at least played "Reality 2.0," as stated on Mix-N-Mojo.

Heh, don't you see "World of Warcraft" on that list?  Once that one gets on the list, all else falls to the side.  There is no time for other-gaming.  WoW is the best way to save money on videogaming ever!  For $15 a month, you're practically guaranteeing that you won't buy another game for as long as you maintain your subscription.  Look at me, I canceled my WoW subscription and   now I find Prey, Sin Episode 1, Jade Empire, and Psychonauts on my hard drive.

Psychonauts is awesome, by the way.

Psychonauts is awesome, by the way.

Due to lack of free time I'm still playing through for the first time (AU release was only a year ago though I suppose).  Aside from being frustrated by the occasional awkward jumpy bit, I've loved it.  The music, art, level design etc all fit together so perfectly.  I can't wait to see what Double Fine do next...

Saying that buying WoW is a way of save money is a good april's joke.

Not posting content on April 1st (other than posting that you not be posting any April Fool's day jokes) isn't really that challenging. If you posted a few new posts and avoided falling for some of the jokes out there then it would be much more impressive.

April First passed me by without noticing

I kind of shut down time-wise over holidays, I got a surprise when I realized it was the 7th of April yesterday, I thought it was still March

Dang spammers trying to kill the internet. Look at what they have done to e-mail. quite often i now have to contact tech support at my isp to add whover i want to be able to e-mail me to a "whitelist" due to the ridiculous amount of spam. I live in a tiny little place, only about 3000 people actually use this isp for internet connection and yet our server gets 2.8 million+ emails daily, most of which are junk.

The worst part is im not even sure that there is a way to fix it, emails are also used often for user subsribed add flyers etc. and i think that is a big reason why spam mail cant just be scooped out of the internet completely.

No, wait a second, whats worse are these companies that offer free laptops and ipods to people just for spamming innocent boards and blogs for them, those people are the ones who should be held responsible for this spammy net congestion
Ultimately some sort of solution has to be found or else we will eventually one day have to re-build the system from the ground up.

Super e-mail might be a neat concept ;) but it would really be a shame if the original got taken out by something as silly as misspelled viagra adds :(

However your site is also quite otherwise as well.

Thank god. I barely come online on 1st April anymore. Not out of fear of being fooled, but just because most of the jokes are unbelievably lame and just damn annoying.

Great 1st April.
