Video Game Bad Ass Chart

Aug 15, 2004 five to two pm

On defective yeti, there is a Cinema Super Villain Showdown Chart to track match-ups of the movie's greatest villains.

It would be really cool if someone did something like this for Video and Computer Game characters.  Someone other than me, that is.

Of course, I do worry about such a tool existing.  It would only give publishers another weapon in their quest to battle the tyranny of creativity and fully install the dictatorship of mediocrity.

"Gee, Steve. Take out the character chart and the sweatshop produced darts."

I'm glad you're as bitter as we are.

I don't see Daleks in that chart...

Were Daleks ever in the Cinema?

Posted by Yufster on Aug 15, 2004 ten past four pm

Yeah, I think they were. At least, there were movies. At least two movies. I distinctly remember owning two movies on VHS.

Come on! The Daleks! They were so evil and ingenious, and yet they were confounded by a flight of stairs.

Metal Purple Tentacle-style Nazis with Laser Guns! They're like all the best villains, rolled in to one, stuck at the bottom of a staircase.

They could fly up / down stairs (just like R2-D2).

I can't for the life of me decide who is more evil: the Deliverance hillbillies or the Wicked Witch of the West?

Hannibal Lecter and the Stay-Puft Marshmallow Man are close, in my opinion, but ultimately Stay-Puft wins.
In my opinion.

I don't see LeChuck in this Chart :)

Daleks couldn't go up stairs, apart from special ones. Which could.

Posted by Yufster on Aug 16, 2004 twenty five to five am

That's because it's a movie villain chart.

Daleks could fly up/down stairs?! No way!! Now they do not seem as cool. Are you sure? I don't remember that...

Do you know Puma Man (http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0081693/)? Then you know the ultimate villain: Kobras. Or even better: Vadinho, the mongoloid aztec who tries to convince the Puma Man, that he IS the Puma Man.
Very, very disturbing - and the best worst movie, I ever saw.

What about Emperor Palpatine? Or Blofield from James Bond?!?

C'MON!!! The guy had a white moggy, we never saw his face until about 5 films into the series, and he brutally fed people to an assortment of vicious aquatic life! What more do you want in a villain.

Bah.

Rastapopulous was the best villain ever.

There's nothing wrong with old things like Dr Who etc dying out. That is, since they're being replaced by equally cool stuff we can survive losing them. Oh, hang on a minute... They're not being replaced by anything equally good. Oh dear. I think I'll go mad and write poetry.
