Carnival of Gamers Coming to Grumpyville

Jun 30, 2006 five past ten am

Ah, the Summer Carnival.  Popcorn, cotton candy, unbathed carnies and a slight rise in reported VD cases - pretty much the stuff childhood memories are made of - and this month it's rolling into Grumpyville.

Due to my patriotic duties surrounding the 4th of July festivities (i.e. a run to the border for illegal fireworks), the Carnival of Gamers will be starting just a few days late.  But wait!  Put down that fistful of sleeping pills! This will give you a few more days to polish that gaming related blog entry that you were sure was going to have to wait until next month, delaying your much need approval in your fathers eyes, something you've longed for.   Am I wrong?   I don't think so.

Head on over to Carnival of Gamers HQ to submit your last-minute entry, or just email it directly to carniegrue@gmail.com.

The Evil Clown with a Pirate Hook for a Hand awaits your submission.

P.S.  Do not submit entries directly to me, you will make the Evil Clown with a Pirate Hook for a Hand mad.

So are you prepearing something special for that Sunday? Maybe a new flash comic or revealing the secret of MI??

I'm guessing it's probably some bratwurst and some hamburgers...

Bratwurst's terribly unpatriotic, but fine with me ^_^

Hey there kiddies! Sit down and let me tell you something: Santa Claus doesn't exist. In much the same way, there is no Secret of Monkey Island! It is so mind-numbingly retarded to keep asking about it. It is a SSEECRETT! You will never know what it is! No, your guesses are pointless because the secret is a free-standing narrative device that gains nothing by being explained, ok?! You're very cute, but for the love of sanity, stop pushing it!

C'mon, kiddies? You are the one who is taking it seriously...

I'm the one who is sick and tired of the joke. :( I am also weary of people who see my refusal to endorse gleeful lameness as an inability to jest. I can be mirthful with the best of them. I get jokes. I even make them on an off blue moon. It is just that the invocations of WAHT IS TEH SECRET OF MONEKY ISLAND?! are litter. Especially at this here hallowed place of potentially enlightened discourse....

... that said, the post above is funny.

Anyone ever see the carnival of lost souls?  That was a weird movie.
