I stood at a crossroads the other day. My computer was getting old, and I wanted to get something more portable, like a laptop. I looked at Windows Vista and thought, "do I really want this? Do I really want to deal with (basically, Ron's screenshot)?" I looked at linux and told her, "I can't take care of you all day! You're more needy than Windows! You need an operation every time there's an update! And you're a little *Gimp*ed. I'm sorry."
So I got a Macintosh. Sure, I can't play most games, but at least I can play Monkey Island (lol) on ScummVM (woo!). And it never complains. It only tells me what I want to hear. It's the best personal computer I've ever had.
PS- I still have access to Windows anyway, so I'm not too worried about missing out on games or anything.
