I thought you have to study journalism before you can call yourself "journalist". He is just a TV guy, like some jerk anouncing the next videoclip.
But maybe that is the secret of Monkey Island. No matter how hard you try to make something look unrealistic/ironic, some idiots will still take it seriously. Like anouncing a super secret and watching other idiots trying to find out what it is for YEARS.
