After some delays with getting console certification, I’m happy to announce the release of Xbox, PlayStation and Switch (and Steam update) of Death by Scrolling on April 16.

Console and Steam feature a big update that includes a new playable character, new world, new powerups, new stuff and new fun. We completely reworked your ability to customize your character. It’s a huge update.

I don't know if this has been asked before, but are there any plans to release Death By Scrolling on GOG?

I would love to have this game someday on my Switch games shelf, physically!

Awesome, I was thinking this should be great on the Switch!

Cool. I love the bones of the game, but I do think the loop could use a little tweaking. Probably the thing I feel like it's crying out for the most is more differentiation between weapons. That typically does a lot to make the way you play the game feel very different, and so creates a lot of variety in loops. I'm sure you all did lots of playtesting, and maybe there was something specific that made implementing more variety in weapons not work as well as it does in other roguelikes, but that is just how I came away from it feeling. Still a wonderful game, and very happy to see that it is getting more love. Look forward to your next adventure, whatever form that might take!

You'll like the update. A lot more ways to customize game play.

Any chance it comes to GOG too?

Awesome! Been waiting for this on my Switch. Can take a break from Cyberpunk for awhile.

@ron Definite improvement! Played for a few hours this week and it felt better balanced. I find myself wishing I could go into the houses in the safe zones and there was some more character interaction lol.

Been enjoying it very much on my Switch!

Hey Ron, long post from a MI fan incoming (I just discovered your blog).

MI was probably one of first PC games I finished. I was a little kid and it was so fun. I can forget one scene where you gotta touch a parrot or bird or something that scared Meathook iirc, and the verbs changed lol. I think I keeping reloading the savegame to see if any of the verbs did something different.
I owned the game, I remember the pirate wheel anticopy, but I dont remember the 2nd game's one, I think I pirated *cough* it because I dont remember or know how the anticopy worked, but years later, I bought the Special Edition legally, so its fine I guess...
Tbh, I beat MI 2: SE a few days ago, and now I just started Return.

You know, the game was awesomely translated in Spanish, adapting the jokes but keeping the meaning, and I think thats true for other languages. Afaik, German version was retranslated for the remake, and the translation was literal and lose much of its charm.
How come classic mode on those games are English only? Was it because some sort of copyright issue? Or just lazyness from the remake developers?

There are some "fixes" to translate the classic mode, but you lose voices (even on remastered mode), and the international symbols get whacked.
I mean, I remember this was an issue back when the first Remake came out, and still there isnt a true fix for this so many years later. Never expected a fix from the developers, but I thought the community would figure it out.
Yeah, scummvm talkie editions are a thing, but I wanted to play the remastered version while switching to classic mode for a few seconds to remember it.

Sorry, this might sound a bit of a rant, but it is really not, its just I get an opportunity to text the creator of one of my favorite games.

To make things clear, I was talking about the lack of translation to other languages on MI(1 and 2):SE classic modes.

I don't know. I didn't have anything to do with the remakes.
